of the North Downs” will be presented by Robert
Canis ARPS, a wildlife photographer and
assistant Warden of Cromers Wood Nature Reserve. He has been awarded the
Royal Photographic Society’s
gold medal, and has twice been highly recommended in the BBC/British Gas
wildlife photographer of the year.

“A Celebration of Birds” - Peter Holden has worked at The Lodge for 40 years and, this year was awarded an MBE for services to Nature Conservation. In September 09 his new book, 'Where to Discover Nature - a guide to the RSPB Reserves' is published. To mark these anniversaries he is to give a very personal view of the Society, the birds and a few of the people who have shaped the Society and nature conservation in Britain today.

Colin Ryall has been studying for 25 years. He is currently the
Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management at Kingston University and

how adaptable species are in a manmade environment. In 2005 he published
“Wild London” showing the diversity of wildlife in the city,
from ancient woodlands to 10 Downing Street. Iain is an exceptional photographer
who runs natural history photography workshops, and exhibits his work
at Hampton Court Flower Festival & London Wetlands Centre..
